A Gift Box

There was a boy named Rajesh, 29, who came as a tenant in a new home in Mumbai for completing his post-graduation in Political science. This was a flat in Mumbai's building which was owned by a Doctor named Rishabh, aged 85, who stayed in the same building.Earlier, the old man’s son was staying there but later shifted to the USA. After marriage, his son got promoted and relocated to the USA. He has been staying there for 10 years with his wife, daughter and son.

   

Rajesh came as a new tenant from Vidharbha region for education. This boy was staying alone in the flat but few conditions were kept by Dr Rajesh on him before allowing him to stay as a tenant. The Conditions like he should not touch any object from the bedroom of the house, he cannot deteriorate the bedroom’s belongings.Especially he was not allowed to use the bedroom. Only he was allowed to sleep, work, and study in the main room.When the boy asked why? Then the doctor replied that he caught his beloved wife in a wrong position with a stranger in this bedroom, and divorced his wife three decades ago.Hence he does not wish any tenant to use the bedroom. The boy was expected to make a contract of two years in which he was expected to pay 50000 rupees as the deposit, and if the boy leaves the home before 2 years then he will have to pay Rs.15,000 in the case of violation of the agreement.

After a few weeks the boy received a message from an unknown number:

It said,

‘The Mission?’

The boy replied, “The mission will be finished soon with bloody revenge.

“Then after few week of stay, the boy started witnessing a dark hand waving at him in his college, home, and class room .The boy told about this to the Doctor.The 85year old told him he was experiencing hallucinations. Further, doctor enlisted various reasons for unending hallucinations like staying home away from parents. The doctor charged him 100 rupees.Relieved with the answer, the boy went to his so-called tenant home.After two &half weeks Rajesh was having severe headpain, be it at home, college or anywhere.Thus he visited the Doctor again.The old man gave him some gel to apply on the head and charged 300 from the boy. After 3 weeks of reliving from head pain, his limbs were in pain. Then Rajesh tried to suppress the pain for another two weeks but with no option, he went to the doctor. The doctor gave him some medicines and charged him with Rs.300.

After two weeks, the boy was relieved of pain. Unusually he was feeling at night that someone is touching his body.This happened when he was asleep in night or awake during the day. Rajesh tried his best to ignore the "Night touchings" for many weeks. He got the high fever.The boy went to the doctor.Doctor gave him a medicine to relieve his headache and charged Rs.500.Also, the doctor told him if fever ends then his hallucinations too will end.After few weeks, his fever went but hallucination didn’t leave his back. In addition, the boy was realizing he was very strong and healthy in the village; and was wondering even though eating food from "Organic home lunch tiffins " in Mumbai why was he facing all problems. After doing this introspection, he realised that the new Mumbai HOME is the reason, and he has been facing these problems only after he shifted to this home.

In end, the Rajesh calls his friend Pravin of Mumbai.Then Rajesh confessed his problem, especially his problems with the current home, to   Pravin. Pravin suggested checking the whole house.After checking all the rooms,  both the boys didn't find anything.Pravin suggested  Rajesh check the bedroom once again due to his intuition.So they started checking the bedroom.When they decide to open the bed then they removed the two big bedsheets the wooden plank  (below the 2 bedsheets), and finds a shocking secret  “A dead body” with skeletons and with long hairs along with MANGALSUTRA rolled in cloth "with blood" all around, there was a knife beside the dead body  which had all crumbs of intestine along with blood . This was discovered by both Rajesh and his friend in afternoon. Thus Rajesh decides to finish this issue, irrespective of any violation.Then both the boys decided to meet the doctor in evening.

Rajesh packs his bags goes to the doctor with Pravin. He says to the doctor that he has kept a gift outside the doctor’s door.Listening to this, the doctor gets up with food crumbs stick in his hands, he comes and takes the gift by opening the door.Rajesh says there are Rs.15, 000 in the big gift box and he is leaving the home by keeping his friend Pravin as a new tenant. Hearing the news, the doctor becomes happy, takes some water to drink which is full glass, and finished the food in front of the both boys. They shake hands with the doctor and leave the tenant house with a bag by closing the doors. Rajesh looks at the clock of his watch when walking with bags down the staircase with Pravin. After one minute, the doctor starts vomiting with blood as he is opening the big gift box in which Rajesh kept 15,000 rupees for the doctor. Ahead with heavy vomiting, he opens the box and realizes that  15,000 rupees are not there but it was written “I took revenge on my 2  retired soldier  friends who were tenant in your home who passed away due to "dark hand' ghost and your greed of charging heavy extra charges of medicine along with rent”.In the end of the letter, he says,

“Regards, RAW.”

Later next day Rajesh reads the title in newspaper" Fire brigade comes in 85-year-old doctor’s home",  with many firemen to extinguish the fire in which they removed the burnt ashes of alleged dead body of woman which was recovered from the bedroom of  another flat of doctor including the Dead doctor's body from his apartment.The post-mortem report showed that a glass which had some water was mixed with an odourless, tasteless poison alongwith some few fragments of explosives recovered from the bedroom.

In the end, the boy Rajesh hugs his officer friend and replies on a message to his senior,

“Operation successful!”
